Welcome to Pemi Gulch ...

Image of the gateway to Pemi Gulch

We held our first Cowboy Shoot on June 22, 1997 with 64 cowpokes helping defend the territory. Our second shoot in 1997 drew 74 shooters and we've never looked back. We normally hold four shoots a year with one being our three-day "Fracas at Pemi Gulch". We have hosted the SASS New Hampshire State Championship in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.

We enjoy and promote the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) and are affiliated with the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), the parent organization of the sport. We are a group of men, women and youth from all walks of life who enjoy the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting and share a love of history, folk lore and have a common interest and respect for the dress and weapons of the Old West. Our host club is the Pemigewasset Valley Fish & Game Club, Inc. which began in 1941.

In view of the importance of keeping would-be troublemakers out of the Pemigewasset Valley and specifically out of Pemi Gulch, any assistance from other territories is appreciated. Most shoots see participants for not only New England, but some from the rest of the country as well. We welcome cowboys, cowgirls, buckaroos, mountain men, gold miners, silver screen heros, muleskinners, soiled doves and dance hall gals, saloon dandies, US Cavalry, Wild Eyed Southern Boys, that occasional ne'er-do-well and even those who have not yet found an identity.

Newcomers are always warmly welcome - you'll find this to be a most friendly bunch! We request that those 16 years of age and younger be accompanied by an adult. You don't have to belong to our club to participate in our shoots. You do need to be a SASS member to participate in the SASS NH State Championships.

Visitors and spectators are welcome, but you must wear eye and ear protection while on the range. Normal glasses or sunglasses are fine. We will have a small supply of earplugs and safety glasses available in the lower level of the clubhouse on the hill.

Please take your time and enjoy the website.
